The Well-Made Trip is written by Luke Thorburn and Gillianne Thorburn-Mercy.

We label every piece. Articles marked Firsthand describe places we have been. Articles marked Researched are built from published sources and say so. We never write in a been-there voice about somewhere we have not been. Everything published so far is researched.

How we make money — today, nothing. There are no affiliate links, no advertising and no paid placements anywhere on this site. We intend to earn affiliate commission on hotel, tour and transport bookings, and to sell clearly labelled Featured Partner placements beside our rankings — but none of that exists yet, and we will change this page the day it does.

What we will not do. Credit-card and airport-lounge comparisons will publish unmonetised. No personal referral link will ever appear on this site. Paid placement will never buy a position inside our rankings.
